This film was supposed to follow a young boy separated from his father during World War II. The boy discovers the Island of Sodor, meets Thomas the Tank Engine, and sets out to find his father. This was supposed to be the second feature film in the series (after Thomas and the Magic Railway in 2000) and was supposed to be released in 2010 due to numerous production problems. The film was repeatedly delayed until it was finally cancelled in 2015 when HIT Entertainment abandoned the plant and sold its property to Mattel.
